Rick Luck | Director

Rick Luck is a Director at Bailey, Elizondo & Brinkman LLC, having joined in April 2010, after a successful 38-year career with GE Capital which encompassed all aspects of risk management from underwriting to portfolio management and problem loan workouts of primarily middle market companies. Mr. Luck's risk management activities have touched on virtually every industrial sector and sub-sector nationally and internationally.

As a Senior Vice President, Mr. Luck has worked on complex, high risk-of-loss situations during his entire career with GE Capital. Mr. Luck has work on more than 100 troubled loans involving single investor, club and broadly syndicated senior and junior debt transactions in the $10 to $100 million range each of which provided Mr. Luck with a unique and valuable skill set and depth of knowledge. Throughout his career, he has been closely involved with over $100 billion of troubled company restructuring, litigation both in- and outside of a bankruptcy as well as bankruptcy exit financing.

Mr. Luck's risk management activities encompassed a broad range of situations in the US, Canada, Mexico, the UK and Europe. Mr. Luck was a leader in GE Capital's first London-based commercial lending team, making senior debt and mezzanine investment in the UK and Europe. Prior to that time, Mr. Luck helped to spearhead two other start-up GE businesses: specialized, vendor-based inventory financing and a small equipment leasing business. These successful venture businesses eventually merged into larger GE Capital entities.

Mr. Luck graduated from Montana State University and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
